Welcome To Art Journaling!

Each week, I'll share a new prompt to spark your creativity and help you reflect on your week. These prompts are here to inspire you and guide you as you dive into your art journal.

Art journaling is all about the journey rather than the end result. It’s a playful space where you can mix colors, words, and images in any way that feels right to you. It’s about reconnecting with the joy of creating for its own sake and using art as a form of self-care.

Think of it as your personal visual diary, where you can freely express yourself. Whether you start with a fresh journal, an old notebook, or a repurposed planner, the key is to have fun and let it reflect who you are.

For me, my art journal is a special place to explore my emotions through drawing, writing, and just playing with marks and colors. It’s my favorite way to relax, unwind, and sort through my feelings.

The best part? You don’t need any formal art training or special skills to get started. With just a few basic supplies and an open mind, you’re ready to dive in. It’s all about enjoying the process and letting your creativity flow!

Here’s a list of supplies to help you get started:

  • Journal or Notebook – Any blank or repurposed book will do the trick.

  • Pens and Pencils – Perfect for sketching, writing, and outlining.

  • Markers – Add bold lines or colorful details with a variety of shades.

  • Watercolors or Acrylic Paints – Great for adding washes of color or texture.

  • Brushes and Sponges – For applying paint in fun and creative ways.

  • Collage Materials – Grab old magazines, scrap paper, or photos to layer your pages.

  • Glue or Adhesives – To stick down collage elements or other fun materials.

  • Scissors – Handy for cutting out shapes, images, or whatever sparks your creativity.

  • Stamps and Ink Pads – Use these to add unique patterns or decorative touches.

  • Stickers or Washi Tape – Fun embellishments that give your journal extra personality.

  • Colored Pencils or Crayons – Perfect for soft shading or detailed work.

  • Stencils – To create consistent shapes, patterns, or designs.

  • Mementos or Keepsakes – This is my favorite! Include found objects like ticket stubs, postcards, or pressed flowers to make it even more personal.
